This is the second number 1 spot for Ben on his DS450X. In addition, Lawson's podium finish represented his second consecutive runner-up effort and Can-Am's third overall podium this season. Lawson won the first moto after overtaking both Wimmer and Josh Upperman (No. 20 American Honda/Baldwin Motorsports Honda) to take the lead. "Everything just happened so fast," said Lawson. "These guys are so fast and you really have to be on your game. I am feeling really confident in my team, my bike and myself, so that makes me ride well." Natalie earned his second moto victory of the year, after catching and passing Byrd and dominating the second moto. "My Can-Am just pulls in this mud; we really had it dialed," said Natalie. "We considered putting on the big tires, but checked out a couple classes before we went out and decided against it which was the right choice." Team Can-Am moved past Honda for second in Manufacturers' Cup points and is now just 43 points behind leader Team Suzuki. http://www.adrenalinatv.co.uk/news/item.htm?pid=1267 1266 Mon, 09 Jun 2008 08:42:54 +0100 Stephen Williams added a third 1st place podium this weekend in the QRA 4x4 class.  At a new venue in Didcott in Oxfordshire Stephen rode a smooth and calculated race in hot dusty conditions to continue his un-defeated winning streak.  Pursued closely by the Team Suzuki King Quad and a fellow Can-Am Renegade, Stephen once again stamped his authority on the 4x4 class in his debut season aboard the Renegade 800X. Stuart Jones had a good race on the DS450 in the Pro Class.   Starting from the back of the group, Stuart fought his way up the pack to get a 10th place finish overall.  Stuart had to pit twice, once for a scheduled fuel stop and then again for a broken seat catch which was frustrating.  He also stopped to help a fellow rider he was in difficulty after having an off on one of the MX sections.  Without these stops, Stuart is now confident that he has his DS450 dialled in and will be ready for a full attack at round 4 in Wales.  Watch this space! Arron Marriott riding in the Stock Class had a good days racing on board his DS450X.  He battled through dusty conditions to get over the finish line in 7th.  This was a great result for Arron who is riding only his 3rd race! The #10 of Greg Gee was also fast in qualifying taking 4th fast and putting two Team Epic Can-Am’s in the top five. In Moto 1 Lawson rode his DS450 into 2nd place behind overall points leader Dustin Wimmer. In Moto 2 Lawson had to avoid another rider on the start which put him way down in 10th at the first corner.  He picked off the riders in front one by one until he was back in 2nd place behind Joe Byrd on his Honda.  Despite an attack on Bryd Lawson finished in a remarkable 2nd place considering the earlier incident.  This left Lawson with 2nd overall at the weekend, Sage Baker in 11th and Greg Gee in 16th topping off an excellent weekend for Can-Am and Team EPIC.  Lawson said ' everything clicked thid weekend, we have been working very hard'. From the M1 exit at Junction 15a, follow the A43 dual carriageway to Towcester. At the A43 / A5 roundabout, take the third exit sign-posted Greens Norton and follow this road through the villages of Greens Norton and Blakesley. After passing through Blakesley look for the Adstone turn, approximately ½ mile outside of the village to the left. Follow this road for two miles - the next village is Adstone and the access to Manor Farm Sports is the drive opposite the Church. From the M40 exit at Junction 11, follow the A422 to the west (away from Banbury) for half a mile to the first roundabout. Take the B4525 - the first exit to the left. After four miles turn left off the B4525 onto a class C road (hence not numbered) signposted to Sulgrave. Stay on this road for five miles to the village of Adstone, from where you take the very first right which will lead you to the Church. The entrance to Manor Farm Sports is opposite the Church. There was also alot of other fast people there such as Paul Winrow, Stefan Murphy and Carl Bunce. There was 21 people all together in my group so I needed to get some good starts as the track was tight.  In race one i came out of the gate in 3rd place with Stefan Murphy in 1st and Carl Bunce in 2nd. Carl Bunce span out on the second corner leaving me to take second. The bike felt great and was working really well. I held 2nd place for about a lap when Carl bunce came past me. I stayed in 3rd for another 2 laps until Paul winrow came up the inside of me. I was in 4th place when Sam Harrison Clipped my back wheels causing me to spin out and lose a few places. I came back up to 6th and finished in that spot. In race 2 I had another good start and was laying in 4th. Then about 2 laps in to it. Me and Sam Harrison got caught up again. I soon got going again and rode from last place up to 7th place. The last race was a long one being about 30 minuites long. I came out of the gate In 6th and was behind Greg Fisher. He was holding his line and I found it really hard to get past him. After about 3 laps I got past him and held my place for the rest of the race finishing 5th. Giving me a 6th over all on the day. The Can Am performed really well and I couldnt of asked for more out of it. The Fox shocks soaked up any thing on the track and felt really plush. The bike was very powerfull and never missed a beat. Im off to desert martin in ireland next taking part in the first qualifying round of the mx championship. Visit www.akraix.com for more information on the performance team and upcoming performances http://www.adrenalinatv.co.uk/news/item.htm?pid=1128 1098 Wed, 09 Apr 2008 16:29:54 +0100 On the 6th April 2008, Ben 'Superman' Luke #182 from Team Super Heroes Racing Inc on board his new 2008 Adrenalin/Epic Can-Am DS450 claimed the DS's first win of the season.  This was Ben's debut on his Adrenalin ATV prepared Can-Am racing in the Novice Class of the Gravity LC event at Corfe Castle.  By the end of the first lap, Ben had opened his DS up and taken the lead which he held for the first half of the race until he pitted for fuel.  When he came out again he was lying in second place and 3/4 of a lap down.  Again, Ben pulled this defecit back and regained first place where he then stayed until the end taking top spot on his1st podium of the 2008 season. Speaking after the race, Ben said "A very rapid and quick bike to ride and handles superbly under most conditions and it goes around corners like a rabbit with blue tack on its paws!  I rode the skin off the bike and myself and I can say without a doubt that the bike was like nothing I've ridden before. It was rapid beyond reason and handled as if it knew where it was going...most of the time excluding user error! The shear straight line pick up and speed was the stuff of dreams!" This initial success is very encouraging as we head into the QRA 2008 Shakedown event next weekend at Egbury.  Stephen will be joined by Lance Hand, Adrenalin ATV's Stock Class rider on a 2008 Can-Am DS450X.  Lance had good success last year in the QRA and is looking forward to a successfull 2008 season.  For the first race of the 2008 QRA Enduro, Lance and Stephen will be joined by Stuart Jones in the Pro-Class on an EPIC prepared Can-Am DS450. Arron Marriott will be racing in the clubman class on Adrenalin ATV's 2007 Suzuki LTR450 project Bike.  Stuart proved his worth in the Pro Class last year with impressive results and final placing even after injury kept him out of the last round of the QRA.  This will be Arrons debut QRA season and he is looking forward to entering into the enduro side of ATV racing. What a great race weekend.  First we started with perfect weather for Friday and Saturday which provided ideal rnd1 conditions for the years new batch of racers. With just over 600 entries is was going to be a record weekend. Then mother nature decided to visit and dumped 2 inches of water over 12 hours and if you know anything  about the desert then you know that can be flood conditions.  That is what we had.  Even if you had a new pair of the Maxxis Razors on you would still like to have a propeller to power you through the water holes.  Some of them reached 4’ deep on the motocross track and you could go white water rafting in the wash if you were not careful. The only thing that did not come with mother natures rain’s was King Kong.  What mother nature did not know was that Team MotoWorks Can Am had a plan to deal with her.  There were 29 Pros that lined up to take the green flag on a modified starting area.  This meant that 2 separate rows of pro’s would take off on separate minutes. The row 2 pro’s would have to be time corrected and this meant that each person was racing the clock and the track.  Doug Eichner Racing’s John Shafe took the row one ATV Riders.com  hole shot on his Polaris and Kawasaki’s Lance Smail took the row two hole shot after “Homer” threw the green flag.  Each row settled into a pace quickly but Doug Eichner was not going to let his team mate lead for long and took the lead on the first lap.  Josh Frederick was next to last going into the off road portion on lap one and had a long road to the front. Over the next 5 laps the Moto Works Can Am team would see one of its racers retire and the other work his way into second.  At the beginning of lap 5 Doug Eichner’s atv decided to expose its  piston and crank shaft to the world with a very loud bang will leaving the pits. This would end any hopes of a round 1 victory that seemed to be in Eichner’s control.  Josh Frederick would now take over the lead while Washington’s Brandon Brown and Tim Shelman along with Temecula Motorsports Mike Cafro were trying to see which podium position would be theirs. Almost no racer could keep goggles on for more than a few turns and this proved to the biggest issue during the event besides half the field not finishing.  Cafro had to pull off in the last laps due to pain from all the mud in his eyes. With the final laps taking a toll on the racers Fredrick, Shelman and Brown never stopped pushing and made the podiums in that order.  The Motoworks Can Am team backed up its 8 hour PIAA endurance race win with this round 1 Pro win. Congrats to those that finished. Team Riders Josh Fredericks and Brandon Smith debuting on the Can-Am DS450 put on an impressive performance in a very strong field. After 39 lap 8 hours and 14 minutes the Motoworks combo came home in 1st place finishing 7 minutes ahead of 2nd place Temecula motorsport team on the HONDA.
